ODM leader Raila Odinga on Wednesday met with families of late Tanzania Presidents late Benjamin Mkapa and John Magufuli.
In a statement, Raila said he visited the widows of the two former presidents; Mama Anna Mkapa and Janeth Magufuli.
"I passed by to visit the families of my good friends Presidents Benjamin Mkapa and John Magufuli. Great to see Mama Anna Mkapa and Mama Janeth Magufuli in high spirits. Mungu azilaze roho zao mahali pema peponi," he tweeted.
Mkapa, who served as the third president of Tanzania, died on July 24, 2020, while Magufuli, the fifth president of Tanzania died on March 17, 2021.
Raila was accompanied by his daughter Winnie Odinga.
The former Prime Minister passed through Tanzania on his way back from Zambia where he witnessed the swearing in of Zambia president Hakainde Hichilema.
Hichilema, who was veteran opposition leader, was sworn in as the seventh president of Zambia Tuesday, August 24, after getting more than 2.8 million votes to President Edgar Lungu's 1.8 million votes.
Raila arrived in Zambia on Monday while President Uhuru Kenyatta joined him and nine other Heads of States on Tuesday.
The celebration took place at the National Heroes Stadium in Lusaka, Zambia.
