Nairobi's Eastlands became live with chants and celebrations ahead of Azimio la Umoja campaigns at Jacaranda Grounds.
All roads from Jogoo Road, right through Outering road, Donholm area joining Manyanja road until Bee Centre led to Jacarands Grounds in Embakasi East.
Hundreds of supporters could be seen tracking not to be left behind the mega rally where President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga are expected to attend later this afternoon.
With anticipation and excitement towards the historical rally, youths supporting the Azimio La Umoja movement camped at the grounds from Friday night.
As of mid-morning Friday, preparations had already commenced with tents being pitched on the grounds.
As early as 6 am, hundreds of supporters from men to women stormed the grounds singing names of praises and merry of their favourite political figures in the Azimio movement.
From Orange to Red and Blue caps, most men were seen wearing them symbolizing support to their Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) and Jubilee Parties, and Azimio movement.
Women too were not left behind with many wearing t-shirts of their preferred political aspirants danced to songs as they made their way to the ground.
Despite the scorching sun, the supporters continued to fill in the grounds as they wait to be addressed by their leaders.
On stage, the podium where Uhuru, Raila and other key political leaders are set to seat had chairs painted in maroon.
The roof had been decorated with white and red sheets while the back of the podium had red, black and white sheets.
Celebrated Kenyan artists right from Bahati to Swahili artist Brother Nassir will be performing to entertain the crowds.
The last time President Uhuru Kenyatta was at Jacaranda grounds was back in May 2018 where he issued 50,000 title deeds to owners of land in Eastlands.
However, to ODM’s Presidential candidate Raila Odinga, Jacaranda grounds has a historic significance being at the centre of his political activities.
