President Uhuru Kenyatta on Thursday launched the Nairobi Microsoft Africa Development Centre (ADC).
The centre is located in the iconic Dunhill Towers, Westlands Nairobi.
It is one of two such facilities in the continent.
According to a statement by the Statehouse spokesperson Kanze Dena, the centre is designed to be a platform for world-class African talent to create technology solutions for local and global impact.
“Microsoft, the American technology giant, set up two ADCs in Lagos, Nigeria and Nairobi, Kenya to provide an environment for African techies to develop solutions to address local and global challenges,” she said.
The President was accompanied by ICT Cabinet Secretary Joe Mucheru.
They toured the facility which hosted over 450 developers working on different applications.
