UDA most popular party in Kenya - Poll

Deputy President William Ruto's United Democratic Alliance remains the most popular party in Kenya.

This is according to an opinion poll by Trends and Insights for Africa (Tifa), which was released on Thursday, May 5.

According to the polls, UDA leads with 34 per cent while ODM has 19 per cent total average of nationwide support.

In terms of province distribution, UDA’s stronghold seems to be in the Central Rift where it commands 62 per cent while ODM has 5 per cent support.

In South Rift, the party has 28 per cent and 26 per cent in Western, while Nairobi, Lower Eastern and Nyanza had 21%, 20% and 16% respectively.

ODM's stronghold is in the Nyanza region where it leads with 45 per cent leaving UDA at 16 per cent.

In the Kenyan coast, UDA and ODM are head to head at 24 per cent while ODM has 23 per cent.

In Lower Eastern, however, Wiper leads with 26 per cent followed by UDA at 20 per cent while ODM has 14 per cent.

The survey was conducted between April 22 and 26 across nine regions including; Central Rift, Coast, Lower Eastern, Mt Kenya, Nairobi, Northern, Nyanza, South Rift and Western.

It involved telephonic Interviews conducted on 2,033 respondents and was funded by Tifa Research.

In Mt Kenya UDA is at 48 per cent ahead of Jubilee and ODM at 9 and 4 per cent respectively.

In Nairobi, ODM leads with 28 per cent followed by UDA with 21 per cent.

In the North Eastern region, UDA leads with 40 percent followed by ODM with 16 per cent.

In the South Rift region, UDA leads with 28 per cent followed by ODM at 16 per cent.

In Western ODM leads with 28 per cent followed by UDA at 26 per cent
