Media houses that wish to broadcast the forthcoming FIFA World Cup in Qatar will first have to obtain the general film permit.
The Media Council of Kenya (MCK) said on Thursday journalists who wish to cover the tournament must obtain the legal requirement to facilitate filming of matches in accordance with Qatar News Agency regulations.
"The filming permit will ensure appropriate working condition for the media. This is to facilitate their task in accordance to the set rules in the State of Qatar," he said.
The tournament will begin on Monday, November 21 to December 18, 2022.
Omwoyo said requests for the permit must be received at least 15 days before prior to the onset of the games by the Department of Foreign Media Affairs.
After inspections, the equipment to be used for filming will be released to respective media houses for coverage.
