How to check your polling station via SMS and online

One can only vote at the polling station where their registration details are captured.

• Voters started to cast their ballots shortly after the official opening of the polls at 6am.

• The IEBC has set up an SMS service that will enable voters know their polling stations at their comfort and convenience.

As the country holds the General elections, the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission has put in measures to ensure Kenyans get to vote in a timely and seamless manner.

One of the measures put is printing of voters names in various polling stations so that they can know in advance where to cast their vote.

However, not all voters got the chance to go physically to these locations to confirm their polling stations.

The IEBC has also set up an SMS service that will enable voters know their polling stations at their comfort and convenience.

All you have to do is send your Identity card number followed by (#) and your year of birth (12345678#1924) to the SMS code 70000 and details of your polling station will come in the form of a text message.

One can also check their poling station online via verify.iebc.or.ke
