President-elect William Ruto's son-in-law on Tuesday congratulated him following his victory at the August 9 general election.

Taking to his twitter handle, Alexander Ezenagu expressing confidence in Ruto's ability to deliver his bottom up agenda to Kenyans.

"Congratulations to my father-in-law on your election as the President of the Republic of Kenya. We trust in your ability to deliver your manifesto," he said.

Ezenegu is married to Ruto's eldest daughter, June.

The outgoing Deputy President was declared winner by IEBC chairperson Wafula Chebukati on Monday after polling 7,176,141 (50.49 per cent) at the elections.

He beat his closest opponent Raila Odinga of the Azimio la Umoja Coalition who managed 6,942,930 votes (48.85 per cent).

It was Raila's failed fifth attempt at the presidency.
