Jubilee secretary general Jeremiah Kioni speaks during a press briefing at Jubilee headquarters Nairobi on April 6, 2022.

Jubilee Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni now claims that the scheme to rig the August 9, general elections started at least four years ago.

Kioni said election rigging in 2022 affected every part of the country, as opposed to earlier plots which focused on certain areas.

"Imekuwa kitu ilichorwa tangu zamani. Sio kitu ilichorwa hapa tulikuwa tunaanza kujitayarisha mambo ya uchaguzi. Hii ni wizi ambao ulichorwa kwa miaka minne, miaka mitano" he claimed.

Loosely translates to: "The plot to rig elections was hatched a long time ago. It is not something that began as we prepared for elections. The rigging plot was planned for four or five years".

Kioni was speaking on Monday during an interview with NTV.

He said as recently as yesterday, Sunday, the Azimio Coalition was still receiving affidavits from some of the people involved in the theft.

"La maajabu ni kusema ya kwamba hata jana usiku, hata asubuhi bado jana walikuwa wanajitokeza kutoa affidavit, kuleta ushahidi ya yale ambayo yalitendeka pahali walikuwa," he said.

Loosely translated to, "What is shocking is that as late as yesternight and today morning, those involved in the rigging plot came out with affidavits, testimonies of what transpired ".

Kioni added that the rigging was done in a way that a number of almost unnoticeable votes were stolen per polling station.

"They would steal like 25 or 30 votes from one polling station," he said adding that the votes summed up to a lot.

The Coalition on Monday presented cartons of documents for their presidential petition challenging IEBC's declaration of William Ruto as President-elect.

The leader Raila Odinga claimed that the polls were rigged in favour of what he called "corruption cartels".
