Badilisha sworn-in as Nyandarua governor in colourful event

He promised to fight corruption to enhance the smooth delivery of the County.

Nyandarua governor-elect Moses Kiarie Ndirangu, popularly known as Badilisha, was sworn into office on Thursday in a colourful event.

The event was presided over by lady justice hon Cecilia Githua and chief magistrate Patraciah Gathoni.

Others in attendance were MPs Wanjiku Muhia (Kipipiri), John Methu (senator )Mwangi Muchira (Oljororok ) Ndegwa Wahome (former speaker) and a host of members of the County assembly.

Speaking after the swearing event, Badilisha expressed confidence that he will deliver on the promises during the campaign period.

He said he will initiate projects that will enhance the quality of life for locals.

"I would like to assure you that I will work for you as your governor and I promise to serve all Kenyans despite the political side they are aligned," he said.

He further promised to fight corruption to enhance the smooth delivery of services in the County.

He said he will work with all members of the County Assembly to offer services to Kenyans.

Kipipiri MP-elect Wanjiku Muhia congratulated the governor and urged him to work for the people.

Wanjiku said she will work with the County administration to ensure service delivery. She further urged the County to ensure the completion of the cancer centre.

"During the campaign, you promised the people of Kipipiri of help in completing the cancer centre," she said.

She said that the people of Kipipiri will work with him (Badilisha) to ensure that they benefit from his administration.

She further urged him to work with all elected leaders and the community to fight corruption that has been hindering service delivery.

"I'm very happy for the opportunity given to me and my governor and we will stick to our manifesto," Wanjiku said.

She added that the County has huge resources that would impact the lives of people on the grassroots level if used well.

The first county governor Wathaka Mwangi vowed to support the incumbent governor in service delivery.

Former speaker Ndegwa Wahome also urged the governor to fight corruption that has been hindering service delivery.
