Marsabit Governor Ali promises goodies for residents

He said his administration would be committed to working for every citizen and lifting their well-being.

Marsabit county Governor Mohamud Ali and his deputy Solomon Gubo Riwe on Thursday promised the residents to continue working for their welfare.

While taking the oath of office, which was administered by justice Christine Wekesa and Edward Muriithi, Mohamud thanked the residents for their support.

"I am humbled by the love you have shown us, externally grateful for the faith you have expressed in our leadership, inspired by the trust and conviction you have shown in our capacity to steer the affairs of our county," he said.

He noted that he was honored to accept both the oath of office of Governor and the duties that come along with it.

"We pursue unrelenting efforts to make health services better, more accessible and affordable. We will expand our facilities for early childhood education to give more and better opportunities to our children," he said.

Governor Mohamud said his administration would be committed to working for every citizen and lifting their well-being.

" I will continue to serve you with absolute humility and devotion to your collective needs and common aspiration," he vowed.

The county boss said he was encouraged by the trust bestowed on them by the electorates and grateful for their belief in his leadership.

"We are kith and kin with community destiny. Let us now stop dwelling on the past. It is now time to take our collectives destinies in our own hands as Marsabit people," he said

"Join me in cultivating a business environment that encourages growth and investments to create jobs and livelihood opportunities for our people."

Deputy Governor Solomon Gubo Riwe called on all the leaders to work together to champion development and equitable services to the residents.

He urged members of county assembly to work closely with governor Mohamud-led administration for devolution to work.

"The county cannot achieve meaningful development without elected leaders working together. Leaders should work together for the common goal of the people," he said.
