A passenger has died aboard a Kenya Airways plane.
The death was confirmed on Friday by the airline in a statement.
"Upon further examination, medical personnel on board confirmed that the passenger had passed away," the statement reads.
The plane was headed to New York from Nairobi.
This is the second such passenger to be reported dead in a span of two weeks.
The carrier, popularly known as KQ, said the unnamed passenger passed away on September 2, 2022 at around 6.30am.
The incident happened aboard flight KQ002.
The passenger who died aboard one of its flights from New York to Nairobi last week was a dual citizen of United States and Kenya.
Authorities identified him as Peterson Njuguna Mwangi aged 66 of Lewisburg Pennsylvania.
The KQ plane was supposed to arrive at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) at 10:32am on Monday, August 22 but due to the incident and consequent rerouting, it touched down in Nairobi a few minutes past 7pm.
A medical emergency forced the plane pilots to divert the plane to Casablanca, Morocco.
