Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga on Friday evening shared an emotional moment with his lawyers after the court adjourned the presidential petition hearing sessions.

In a video shared online, Raila was seen hugging his lawyers who had represented him at the Supreme Court.

Raila had petitioned the Court after the IEBC declared William Ruto as the president elect on the just concluded elections held on August 9.

‘Thank you! Thank you soo much’ Raila could be heard saying as he went on to hug the senior counsels in the room.

Dressed in a blue court and a grey trouser, Raila begun hugging Senior Counsel James Orengo before hugging Paul Mwangi, Philip Murgor Julie Soweto among others.

The lawyers who took on Raila's case include Orengo, Murgor, Soweto and Pheroze Norwojee.

Others are; Okong’o Omogeni (Nyamira Senate seat), Kisumu senator-elect Tom Ojienda and Makueni Senator-elect Dan Maanzo.

Last week, Raila turned up outside the courthouse with a van filled with boxes of legal fillings, which he helped to carry inside.

With his battery of 42 lawyers, Raila defended his move demonstrating how Ruto was illegally declared the president elect.

In a 'bombshell' claim, his lawyers placed a Venezuelan at the heart of alleged poll rigging for President-elect William Ruto.

Raila's side, in a dramatic submission, described to the Supreme Court what it claims are the "fingerprints" of Venezuelan Jose Camargo in alleged manipulation of the presidential polls.

“This is the person who determined the president-elect of the country,” lawyer Julie Soweto said as she sought to demonstrate how the results were altered.

Camargo was one of three Venezuelans arrested by police with undeclared election materials and assorted advanced electronic devices at JKIA on July 22.

After a series of tongue twisting submissions and petitions at the Super Court, the hearing came to an end and judgement is expected on September 5.

The court's verdict on September 5 will see if the election will be nullified or if they will uphold Ruto's win.

Nullification of the election would send Kenyans back to the polls, which must be conducted within 60 days, with the specific day being November 4, 2022.

If the Judges uphold the election of Ruto, he will be sworn into office on September 13, 2022.
