A memorial service for the late Queen Elizabeth II will be held on Sunday September 18 at the All Saints Cathedral, Nairobi.
A programme released by the church in collaboration with the British High Commission indicates that the service will be held from 3 pm at the Main Sanctuary.
Kenyans who will attend the service will have a chance to sign the condolence book in commemoration of the departed monarch.
Senior state officers are members of the clergy and are expected to attend the service.
Queen Elizabeth II was the longest-serving monarch of the British Empire, having ruled for 70 years.
The 96-year-old died on September 8 surrounded by her family.
Buckingham Palace announced in a statement that she passed away “peacefully” at her home in Balmoral, Scotland.
Besides being a commonwealth member state, Kenya had closer ties with the late queen as she ascended to the throne while in Kenya on tour upon her father's death in 1952.
On September 9, former President Uhuru Kenyatta declared four days of mourning in honour of the departed monarch.
He said Kenya would observe a period of national mourning from Friday, September 9 until sunset Monday, September 12.
During this period, the Kenyan flag flew at half mast in all Kenyan diplomatic missions, public buildings grounds, all military bases, posts and stations, and all naval vessels of the Republic of Kenya.
The Queen will be buried on Monday evening in the King George VI memorial chapel at Windsor Castle in a private service for members of the Royal Family.
