MP Mbadi cries foul after Wandayi is named minority leader

Nominated MP John Mbadi has expressed his reservation on the appointment of Ugunja MP Opiyo Wandayi as the minority leader at the National Assembly.

Mbadi whio served as the minority leader in the 12th Parliament termed the decision to overlook him for the post as unfair.

He noted that him being a nominated MP is not an excuse to deny him the post saying it is the party that implored him to step down from the gubernatorial race.

"I was asked to shelve my gubernatorial ambition which I did. It will be unfair to deny the opportunity on the basis that I am nominated. I have a track record as a Minority Leader," Mbadi revealed in a statement to NTV.

In  a press statement on Saturday, Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka announced that Wandayi will lead the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Alliance at the National Assembly.

Wandayi will be deputised by will be deputised by his Kathiani counterpart Robert Mbui (Wiper).

The coalition appointed Mombasa Senator Steward Madzayo (ODM) as Senate minority leader and will be deputised by Kitui senator Enock Wambua (Wiper).

Isiolo Senator Fatuma Dulo (Jubilee) was named the minority whip and will be deputised by her Nairobi counterpart Edwin Sifuna (ODM).

At the National Assembly, Suna east MP Junet Mohamed (ODM) was picked as the coalition's Chief Minority Whip and will be deputised by nominated MP Sabina Chege (Jubilee).
