Kwale Environment and Land Court has resumed hearing of a case filed by EACC to recover 100 acres of Chale Island in Kwale County.

The hearing started on Monday and will continue for four days until Thursday.

The land is gazetted as a Marine Reserve and Sacred Groove but was illegally subdivided and transferred to private persons.

The Court has since granted orders sought by EACC prohibiting the defendants from interfering with the land until the matter is determined.
