Detectives from Dagoretti are investigating a case in which a woman and a caretaker are suspected to have killed a man who refused to open the door in Riruta
Prosecutor Ann Murage while filling an application in court to seek the custodial order against Damaris Mumbua, the alleged wife, and Monica Wambui, the caretaker said that more days were needed for the investigations to be completed
“We are seeking 14 days to detain the respondent so that we complete our investigations, We are yet to record more statements and do a medical to ascertain the medical status of the respondent,” she told the resident magistrate Jacqueline Ojwang.
The court heard that the deceased Bonface Mwenzi refused to open the door and leaned on it and the suspects are alleged to have hit the door from outside killing him due to excessive bleeding.
“The deceased had blocked the door entrance prompting the respondent to use force to break into the house and as a result, the deceased was hit by a fragment from a broken wooden door at the back of his head leaving him bleeding profusely leading to his death,” the court heard.
The court heard that the body of the deceased was later found lying lifelessly along Kinyanjui road.
The officers ran to the scene and they found the deceased sister who informed them that they suspected the wife was behind the incident.
In court, the suspects while responding to the affidavit did not raise any objections.
They told the court that they were fine with their detentions.
The magistrate directed that the matter be mentioned on October 18 for further directions.
