The newly appointed ICT CS Eliud Owalo has expressed his gratitude to President William Ruto after nomination.
He said his appointment served as an opportunity to serve the country and to help the President to deliver on his manifesto.
"I take this early opportunity to sincerely thank the President and Commander in Chief of the Defense Forces of the Republic of Kenya, Dr. William Samoei Ruto for having nominated me to serve Kenyans as the Cabinet Secretary for Information, Communication and the Digital Economy," he said on Tuesday.
Owalo further acknowledged Ruto for entrusting him to steer the Ministry of ICT, adding that it is a vital sector in the country's development.
He promised to serve diligently once he takes over office.
"There is no greater honour than to serve one’s country. I promise to be responsive to the needs of Kenyans and to serve selflessly with diligence and efficacy," he said.
"Overall, I thank the almighty God for giving me this opportunity to serve my countrymen and women as by serving God’s people, you serve God."
The leader said he will make a statement in relation to his mandate and how to fulfil the statutory processes related to the same.
On Tuesday, Ruto appointed 15 men and seven women to the cabinet, to help achieve his manifesto.
