Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua on Saturday met with 32 County Commissioners from the drought-stricken counties.
In a statement, Gachagua said they held consultations on how to mitigate the effects of the ongoing drought.
"We have developed and agreed on a clear road map on how to mitigate the effects of the drought and make sure no Kenyan dies from hunger." he said in a statement.
Gachagua expressed confidence that the administration officers were going to uphold their mandate to Kenyans.
"Our officers from the National Government Administration are resourceful and efficient when deployed positively to serve the people of Kenya," he said.
On Friday while speaking during a meeting at his office in Harambee House Annex, Gachagua said a multi-sectoral approach was underway to develop strategies to deal with the drought issue.
He added that the government had formed a committee to develop mitigation strategies.
"We have agreed on the formation of county coordinating teams to be co-chaired by governors and county commissioners as the focal point of driving the humanitarian intervention," he said.
He said the committee will meet on Tuesday in all affected counties.
The drought has affected approximately 3.5 million Kenyans.
