Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka was in attendance at the Mashujaa Day celebrations at Uhuru Gardens.

He was probably the only Azimio la Umoja One Coalition leader who attended the 59th Mashujaa Day celebrations.

Kalonzo was seated at the VIP dais and was even greeted by President William Ruto when he arrived.

In September, the Wiper leader had dismissed claims that he had reached out to the President.

Kalonzo said the rumours on social media were a creation of individuals with ill motive.

He said he will meet Ruto openly at the right time, but after consulting Wiper and Azimio leadership.

Last week, Kalonzo pleaded with the President to  rethink his stand on lifting the ban on GMO foods in the country 

He said the matter GMO foods will reduce food shortage in the country but in the long run, citizens will experience adverse health effects.

"When the President was Minister for Agriculture, he was vehemently opposed to GMOs as I am... I'm calling on William to reconsider (lifting of the ban) for the sake of this country," Kalonzo said.
