Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua now says that his interest and that of President William Ruto is to serve Kenyans.

Speaking on Monday, Gachagua said that they are not after creating wealth for themselves.

"I have said many times and people think I'm joking... We are not looking for wealth. We are just available to serve 24/7," he said.

The DP spoke when he attended the launch of the Kenya Youth Employment and Entrepreneurship Accelerator Program (K-YEEAP).

During his address, Gachagua reiterated President William Ruto's commitment to working with young people and creating jobs.

He added that the head of state is always available to engage on issues involving the youth. 

"I want to confirm that President Ruto is ready anyway for the roundtable especially if the agenda is youths and employment and business opportunities."

Gachagua also noted that the president has among other changes given a directive on time management among government officials.

"He has told us anybody who keeps business people waiting will face his wrath," the DP added.
