Police in Kuresoi south, Nakuru have arrested two suspects in possession of 385 kilograms of bhang worth Sh11 million.
The two were arrested at Kiptagich by security officers manning a roadblock along the Kiptagich-Bomet route on their way to Nakuru town.
Sub-county police commander Jeremia Leariwala said the two ignored the order to stop forcing the officers to give the car a chase which saw the two nabbed.
“From the information, we are getting from them is that they were heading to Ngong but it appears they are people who are much aware of this area,” said the police boss.
He said they will continue to heighten their operation in the area and along the route to weed out all elements who might be engaged in the business of working in cahoots with the suspects.
“Their arrest is not the end because for someone to pass this route with such a huge amount of this illegal substance then it tells you they have made it a habit thinking we have removed the roadblocks,” Leariwala added.
He noted they will be probing the suspects to establish where the substance was sourced from and its destination.
The two, according to the officer, are set to be arraigned on Friday.
