Kenyan comedian Arap Uria, who is in Qatar for the World cup has finally met his motivator, English football commentator Peter Drury.
Uria has been imitating Drury in his online commentaries, something that has thrust him as one of the most influential comedians in the country.
On Friday, he became an online sensation when he posted a photo requesting to meet Drury.
"Hello Peter Drury, it's Arap Uria, I am in Qatar and I would love to meet you," the post read.
Drury was among those trending on Saturday morning as Kenyans sympathised with the helpless Uria.
Kenyans on Twitter then joined the bandwagon in asking the World Cup commentator to grant him an audience.
On Saturday afternoon, through the support of a well-wisher, Uria confirmed meeting the celebrated commentator.
"Gooooal. Finally with Peter Drury. Many thanks," he said.
Jim Beglin, Drury's co-commentator got attracted by Uria's tweet and offered to help him meet.
"I have passed on your tweet to Drury. I hope it all works out for you. Good luck," he said.
