Interior CS Kithure Kindiki on Tuesday hosted Tharaka-Nithi leaders led by Governor Njuki Muthomi and Senator Julius Gataya for talks on security and development in the county.
Kindiki said they discussed fast-tracking the completion of stalled projects including the County headquarters at Kathwana.
"We also discussed the gazetting of already-constructed police posts and national government administrative units to enable their operationalisation," he said.
Kindiki had on Monday hosted Garissa leaders for talks around the security situation in the county.
The leaders were led by Governor Nadhif Jama and Senator Abdulkadir Haji.
He said the meeting is a continuation of the government's consultative approach to long-lasting solutions to security challenges in different parts of the country.
The meeting was also attended by police Inspector General Japheth Koome, his Deputy Noor Gabow and GSU commandant Douglas Kanja.
It comes in the wake of a statement by President William Ruto on insecurity in the region.
“Our discussion was on ways to combat cattle rusting and other related challenges in their region,” Kindiki said.
