Tuk tuk operators in Kisumu have demonstrated against what they termed continuous harassment following an order on how they would operate.

Passengers who use tuk tuk from different areas remained stranded.

The operators alleged that they had been told to only carry luggage and not passengers.

Stephen Odhiambo Obiero Tuk tuk board chairman said they are not happy.

"Tuk tuk pay taxes that contribute to the development of the county. Such plans should be shelved and allow us to work in peace," he said.

He said the sector has employed so many people.

"We have families and we are also paying loans for these tuktuks, the plan will have a great impact on the economy and our livelihood," Obiero said.
