President Ruto on Thursday made a maiden visit to the White House, for a leaders' dinner hosted by US President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden.
He was accompanied by the First Lady Mama Rachel Ruto.
President Ruto is in the country for a US-Africa leadership summit in Washington DC.
Biden is hosting leaders from Africa between December 13-15, a forum the US is keen to use to strengthen its partnership with Africa.
Ruto said Kenya and the US are united by their shared commitment to democracy, economic prosperity and regional peace.
"We will continue working together to expand our strategic partnership for the mutual benefit of the citizens of our countries," he added.
