President William Ruto has issued a fresh Executive Order reassigning some functions for his government.
This order supersedes the one issued last year in October.
In his Executive Order 1 of 2023, Ruto published key roles of officials from the Deputy President to the Chief Executive Officers of State Corporations.
In the changes, DP Rigathi Gachagua got a new role in the Coffee reforms sector.
He will also deputise the President in execution of the President’s functions in accordance with Article 147 of the Constitution;
Gachagua is to Chair Cabinet Committees; Oversee Implementation of Cabinet decisions across all Ministries and State Departments.
Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi will also be assisting the president and his deputy in the coordination and supervision of Government Ministries and State Departments.
Mudavadi will also Chair the Principal Secretaries’ Committees and supervise the technical monitoring and evaluation of Government policies, programs and projects.
Also in the new structure, National Transport and Safety Authority is being reverted back to the Ministry of Transport.
