Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua on Friday met his former high school headteacher and classmate at Harambee House Annex.
The DP took to Twitter to celebrate his former teacher saying that he is grateful for the mentorship during his school days.
"Always grateful to those who mentored me in one way or another and played a significant role in shaping me and preparing me for leadership and the future," he said.
He said his former headteacher Julius Ndumbi was his teacher at Kianyaga High School from 1978 -1983.
He described him as a strict disciplinarian, tough, loving, wise, a father figure and a role model.
The DP said he had an emotional reunion with his former teacher and thanked him for the role he played in preparing him for leadership.
Gachagua also met Maina Giandaru who was his classmate for six years.
He said the two have remained friends for a long time.
Gachagua urged Kenyans to appreciate teachers and mentors who play a significant role in shaping people's destinies.
"I appreciate all my teachers and celebrate them for their dedication and service; teaching is indeed a noble profession and a calling," he said.
