Likoni MP Mishi Mboko arrives in parliament for the vetting of cabinet secretaries on October 22, 2022.

Likoni MP Mishi Mboko has said she did not call for the killing of members of the LGBTQIA+ community.

Speaking on Friday, the legislator said that her earlier remarks and those of Nyali MP Mohammed Ali meant that Kenya should not allow its practice.

She claimed that it was evil forces trying to change the way God planned the life of human beings.

"What could be the reason why God created a man and from him, he created a woman so that they can pair and fill the world now evil forces are trying to change God's script.

"Washindwe! We aren't advocating for the killing of LGBTQIA but we can't entertain their agenda in our county," Mboko said.

Her remarks were in response to Prof Makau Mutua's words that the two legislators spread hate speech against LGBTQIA.

He added that it was a shame they were advocating for their extermination instead of protecting their rights as legislators.

Earlier in the week, Mboko said LGBTQIA+ should not be entertained in Kenya.

Her counterpart Ali added that time should not be wasted on discussing the community because it is ungodly.

He even suggested that they should be jailed.

The LGBTQIA+ issue has been the talk of the town since activist Edwin Chiloba's dead body was found dumped inside a metal box by the roadside in Eldoret.

His death saw pro-LGBTQ celebrities condemn the act, saying that Chiloba's death was war on the community.

The main suspect later confessed to have killed Chiloba who was their partner over cheating.

Other leaders have also expressed their stand on the matter:
