Veteran photojournalist William Oeri is dead

He was involved in an accident along Sagana- Kenol road.

Veteran Photojournalist William Oeri is dead.

Oeri passed on after being involved in an accident on Sunday.

According to a police report, the journalist was driving along Sagana-Kenol road, heading towards Kenol, when he came into a head-on collision with an oncoming lorry.

 

"Due to impact, the Toyota Wish burst into flames but members of the public used sand to put off the fire," police said.

The accident happened in the Kitini area at 3 pm.

The lorry driver escaped with minor injuries. 

Oeri worked in Nation Media Group as a deputy photoeditor for many years.

At the time of his death, he was working with the People Daily newspaper as a photojournalist.

His body has since been moved to General Kago mortuary awaiting a postmortem examination.

Police have begun an investigation into the matter.
