Former IEBC Commissioner Molu Boya has said he has left the commission contented.

On Wednesday morning, Boya said it was a privilege to serve Kenyans at the commission.

“The day is finally here to bid farewell to the IEBC fraternity upon completion of our tour of duty at the Commission,” he tweeted.

“ To the people of Kenya, We thank you for the privilege to serve you in this Commission. We leave contented that we gave it our best shot under the circumstances,” he said.

After six years of service, Chebukati and commissioners Boya Molu and Abdi Guliye left the commission after their term ended on January 17.

The three became the first commissioners of the IEBC to ever leave their positions on account of term completion.

The exit of the three will however mean there will be no substantive commissioner at the electoral body, even as it gears towards crucial constitutional duties including the review of constituency and ward boundaries.

According to Chebukati, during their tenure,  the Commission endured relentless fatigue in preparation for the election.
