Kamusinga national school shines in 2022 KCSE results

The school has sent 457 students to University representing 95.81 per cent.

Kamusinga National School in Kimilili Constituency in Bungoma County has posted excellent results in this year's 2022 KCSE results.

Addressing the press at the school premises on Friday, Protus Ndombi, acting principal attributed good results to the hard work and dedication of teachers, the school community, non-teaching staff, parents and the ministry of education.

“This is the work of our hands, I want to thank the students who were disciplined and worked hard to ensure that our school shines nationally,” Ndombi stated.

Ndombi lauded his predecessor chief principal Alex Kariuki for leading the school and ensuring that the school performs well.

Ndombi stated that though the school has performed well, the mean score has dropped from 9.6221 in 2021 to 9.2473 in 2022.

He noted that the school has sent 457 students to University representing 95.81 per cent.

He said that the school registered 477 students who sat for the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) in 2022 adding that those who have secured opportunities at TVET institutions are 20 representing 4.19 percent.

The school head said that out of the total of 477, 11 were able to get an A plain, 91 got A- minus, 120 got B+, 126 got B plain, 69 got B- minus, 40 got C +, 13 got C plain, 6 got C – minus and lastly 1 got D+ plus.

The top ten students in the school were as follows: Obuyu Justin with 84 points, Victor Mareko  83, Kenga Kwicha 83, Kipkosgei Collins 82, Levy Kalama 82, Graham Wesonga 82, Sheldon Butaki 82, Bravin Victor 81, Peter Odhiambo with got 81 points and Aungo Yuro closed the top ten with 81 points.

Ndombi said that he is determined to work with all stakeholders to ensure that the school performs much better.
