Ruto holds talks with Morocco PM on economic relations

He said Kenya and the Kingdom of Morocco enjoy deep-rooted economic relations.

President William Ruto on Wednesday held talks with Morocco’s Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch in Dakar, Senegal. 

The two discussed relations between the nations in areas of trade, agriculture, health, tourism and energy.

The President said Kenya and the Kingdom of Morocco enjoy deep-rooted economic relations. 

"We commit to accelerate and strengthen our strategic ties for the shared benefit of the citizens of the two countries," he said. 

Ruto is currently in Senegal for the Dakar 2 Summit on ‘Feed Africa: Food, Sovereignty and Resilience’, he was a keynote speaker. 

The summit was organised by the Africa Development Bank. 

"This is an appropriate forum for Heads of State and other partners to discuss how to exploit Africa’s agricultural potential."

The summit will also be an opportunity for leaders in the continent to find ways through which Africa can meet the rising cost of food.
