President William Ruto has said at least 15 million Kenyans have borrowed money from Hustler Fund.

"We now have 18 million Kenyans who have opted on the Hustler Fund," he said.

Speaking during the Kenya Police Sacco 50th anniversary, Ruto said 14.2 million Kenyans are regularly servicing their loans.

"800,000 of them maybe have challenges paying, because they have exceeded the time they were supposed to pay, we are confident they will catch up and repay," he said.

The President also said the fund has so far dispatched Sh17 billion to the borrowers.

"For the last two months, members of the Hustler Fund have also saved Sh850 million," he added.

He also said six million Kenyans, who have been regularly borrowing and repaying their hustler loans on time, will have their limits enhanced, which will take effect from Saturday.

"Majority of the borrowers will have their loan limits doubled while others will access 80 per cent more than what they have been borrowing," he said.

He also urged borrowers to pay on time, to increase their limits further.

"When you pay on time, your loan limit will be increased, and you can reborrow again," he said.
