Learners at St George’s Primary School were seen fighting back tears when the caravan carrying the body of George Magoha entered the school premises.
Some students were unable to hold themselves back with several seen consoling each other.
The pupils at the school remember the former Education CS for spearheading the construction of classrooms.
After the release of the KCPE results, Magoha would occasionally visit St George’s Primary School and even attend prize-giving ceremonies.
“There’s a time he came here with former First Lady Margaret Kenyatta during the prize-giving day,” a student said.
Some students held Manila papers written, “The father of sanity in exams." "A great servant and leader and fare thee well hero.”
"We remember him for being a great champion of the CBC and he helped us get desks, chairs, more classrooms, books and he would come to motivate KCPE candidates," a student said.
