Amina Mohamed lands chancellor role at Uganda University

Former Sports, Culture and Heritage CS Ambassador Amina Mohamed has been inaugurated as the new Chancellor of the International University of East Africa in Uganda.

Amina was appointed to the position on Wednesday to replace the late Prof Emmanuel Tumusiime-Mutebile who died on January 23, 2022.

"Today IUEA installed Amb Dr Amina Chawahir Mohamed. We are positive that the Chancellor's leadership will be instrumental in guiding the institution towards more outstanding achievements," the institution said on its official Twitter page.

Following her inauguration, Amina pledged to work towards bettering the affairs of students at the university.

"To the students, today and tomorrow belong to you. I will do my best to make sure you are equipped with the tools that will magnify and amplify your chances of success in life," she said.
