Former Nyeri Town MP Ngunjiri Wambugu has disclosed why he is opposed to Azimio rallies by Raila Odinga.

According to Wambugu, it is not because he does not agree with the former Prime Minister's views.

The former legislator said he only disagrees with the actions of Raila because, in the end, they affect all Kenyans.

"When you hear me condemning the rallies that are being done by Raila Odinga it is not because I do not agree with his positions. It's because I disagree with the actions he's taking because they hurt all of us as Kenyans," Wambugu said.

He is one of the Jubilee party members who have shied away from taking part in Azimio's anti-government rallies led by Raila Odinga.

The former MP believes there are better ways for the opposition to criticize the government as opposed to their rallies.

So far, the opposition has held over 10 rallies across the country.

"We are now getting pulled into the politics of the moment when we are supposed to be figuring out how to pay school fees and how to feed families. We are now getting stuck on who won the last election."

Wambugu insisted that the Raila-led side should move away from the past and focus on the future.

During the Azimio rallies, Raila claims he won the August 2022 presidential election but was rigged out by Ruto, with the help of former IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati.

Chebukati has since denied the allegations.
