Kindiki ranked lowly by Western, Nyanza regions – Infotrak

Only 13 per cent of respondents in Western Kenya believe he is doing a good job.

Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki has been ranked the lowest performing CS in Western and Nyanza regions in Kenya.

A survey by Infotrak released on Tuesday shows that only 13 per cent of respondents in Western Kenya believe Kindiki is doing a good job.

In Nyanza, 14 per cent of the 2,149 people interviewed approve of Kindiki’s performance.

The two regions are perceived strongholds of Opposition chief Raila Odinga.

Comparatively, Kindiki was ranked highly in the Eastern region at 38 per cent, followed by North Eastern region at 36 per cent.

The Coast region gave Kindiki an approval rating of 30 per cent while Nairobi handed him 19 per cent.

In Rift Valley, President William Ruto’s turf which has been experiencing sporadic bandit attacks, only 27 per cent of the respondents gave Kindiki thumbs up.

In its June 8, 2022 survey, Infotrak said Azimio leader Raila Odinga would win the August 9 presidential race with 9.3 million votes while President William Ruto, then the DP, would amass 8.4 million votes.

Ruto, however, won with 7.1 million votes against Raila’s 6.9 million.
