“This Wednesday we meet at City Stadium from 11 am to 2 pm as we share a packet of unga with everyone that intends to join us at State House. We are calling upon well-wishers to donate unga,” Omondi said on Monday.

While being arrested, Omondi defended himself, arguing that most Kenyans are facing economic hardships.

“Most Kenyans are hungry. I was just distributing this unga to needy cases,” he said.

He was taken to the Industrial Area police station ahead of the planned arraignment.

The popular comedian was arrested Tuesday last week after attempting to storm into Parliament buildings with a group of shirtless muscular men donning black shorts.

Omondi was later freed on a Sh10,000 cash bail after he pleaded not guilty to taking part in an unlawful assembly.

Azimio la Umoja leader Raila Odinga defended Omondi’s demonstrations during the National Prayers last week, stating that Kenyans have a right to protest and should be protected by the police while in demonstrations.
