Women converge at KICC to commemorate Women's Day

Women attending the International Women's Day celebrations at KICC have resoundingly rejected the recent ruling by the Supreme Court on LGBTQ.

They chanted 'Hatutaki!', translating to we don't want, following a speech by the Chair of the Gender and Affirmative Action Committee at the National Assembly Ann Ng'ang'a.

Ng'ang'a said that as women in the country, they could not understand why the ruling was made.

"Your Excellency (President William Ruto), we still continue to fight for our space," she said.

"Especially now that we are told that men can marry men and women can marry women," she said.

The crowd of women chanted that they are not in favour of the ruling.
