Foreign Affairs CAS nominee Joash Maangi has urged Kenyans to reject calls by Azimio leader Raila Odinga to storm State House during Monday's mass action.

Maangi termed the move as foolhardy and urged Kenyans of good will to condemn it and give it a wide berth.

"As leaders, we should not rally people to engage in the streets with police, the government has not delayed in meeting its obligation, it will deliver every bit of it," Maangi said.

"It is all about time not dragging people to storm State House," Maangi added while addressing the Media on Saturday at his Ogembo residence in Kisii.

Raila has called for mass action on Monday to protests against government excesses its inability to lower the cost of living.

He has said a delegation will be sent to State House to deliver a message to President William Ruto that him and Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua are illegitimately in office and should vacate.

"If you believe that the Ruto and Gachagua regime has failed, change your profile pics to a white background," he told Azimio supporters on Saturday via a tweet.

But the former Kisii Deputy Governor cautioned Raila against the protests saying he may soil his legacy by driving Kenyans to engage in violence at a time they are trying to rebuild their country after a grueling poll.

"He has build a legacy for years which should not be soiled by bloodshed over his plan to raid State House with violent mobs," he warned.

Maangi unsuccessfully vied for Senate seat on UDA ticket in Kisii  in the August polls.

He is among 50 Kenyans who were on Thursday nominated for the position of Chief Administrative Secretary by President William Ruto.

Maangi thanked the President for the nomination to the Foreign Affairs Ministry and promised not to disappoint him if Parliament approves his nomination.

He also thanked the President for appointing a number of other Gusii leaders into his administration.

"This demonstrates the love he has for us and as he comes to Kisii on Friday, we welcome him with open arms," Maangi said.

Former Boochi Tendere Ward Rep Ibrahim Ombuya and Kisii County Assembly nominee Edna Kwamboka called on the President to remember the community with additional appointments.

The President will Friday visit Gesusu in Masaba South for the home coming ceremony of Education CS Ezekiel Machogu.

Maangi rallied the community to support Ruto and shun divisive politics.
