Kibra was rocked with chaotic scenes as Azimio's second demos took place.

In Kibra, tyres were lit across the road.

Police were forced to lob teargas canisters to disperse the protesting youths.

Protesters thronged other parts of the country in preparation for nationwide protests.

This follows a call by Azimio leader Raila Odinga to hold anti-government protests countrywide.

Inspector General of police Japhet Koome on Sunday banned the planned countrywide protests by the Azimio la Umoja Coalition.

The IG said that no one will be allowed to hold demonstrations this week.

However, Azimio la Umoja leader Raila Odinga has assured his supporters that anti-government protests are still on.

This assurance came slightly over two hours after the protests failed to take off as planned.

Unlike on Monday last week, there has been no action in the CBD and with minimal cases of demos reported in parts of Kibra and Mathare.
