Cows caught in melee as police teargas protesters in Nairobi

A herd of cows was on Thursday was caught in a commotion with Pro-Azimio protesters as police lobbed teargas at the group along Outer Ring Road, Nairobi. 

The police were attempting to block Azimio leader Raila Odinga's convoy as it made its way through Embakasi.

The opposition chief had earlier on dared to lead the protesters to CBD but they were dispersed by police at Pipeline. 

This is the third demo and the third time that Raila's march to CBD has been frustrated. 

Anti-riot police have been stationed on major roads within Nairobi and along the highways as the demos take place.

Speaking at Imara Daima in Embakasi South, Raila said no amount of state intimidations will make him backtrack on his resolve.

"A million police officers cannot stop us from liberating Kenyans. Whether you like it or not, change will come," Raila said.

The opposition chief was accompanied by Martha Karua, Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna, Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka and Embakasi East MP Babu Owino among others.
