The former Prime Minister said Kenya is stronger than the police.

He added that the people are a country's political strength.

"Kenya lazima ikombolewe. Itolewe uongozi wa ki imla, uongozi wa kimabavu... Hata walete askari milioni moja Kenya iko na nguvu zaidi. Nguvu ya siasa ni wananchi," Raila said.

This loosely translates to, "Kenya must be liberated. Dictatorial leadership must be done away with... Even if they bring in one million police officers, Kenya is stronger. Political strength is the people."

While addressing his supporters on Thursday, Raila said the time is ripe for the government to lower the cost of living.

The Azimio chief was accompanied by Martha Karua, Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna, Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka and Embakasi East MP Babu Owino among others.

The Opposition planned to hold a mega rally at the Jacaranda grounds, which is currently cordoned by a contingent of anti-riot police officers.

Thursday marks the Opposition's third anti-government protests in the country.
