Agano party leader David Mwaure has issued demands regarding the bi-partisan talks between the government and Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition.
In a statement on Tuesday, Mwaure called for the talks to be inclusive of all presidential candidates in the 2022 general elections.
The August polls had four candidates including President William Ruto, Azimio leader Raila Odinga, Roots Party leader George Wajackoyah and Mwaure.
"It would an absurdity and daylight exclusion to discuss the results of 2022 Presidential elections and reconstitution of IEBC without the main players who were there and who were affected," the statement reads in part.
The former presidential candidate also called for the representation of small unfunded parties, religious organizations, civil society, the Law Society of Kenya, and other professional bodies, women, and differently enabled persons.
He warned that if the issues raised are not met, the party will seek court intervention.
"That in case of failure to be all-inclusive, our courts should intervene and uphold the tenets of our constitution," he said.
His demands followed the call for the end of Azimio's demonstrations to allow the chance for talks.
Speaking on Sunday, President Ruto said he is willing to engage the opposition on a bi-partisan approach to find solutions.
He said he has always been ready to engage leaders including political and religious.
"Considering the matters raised on this particular subject, I suggest a bi-partisan engagement in Parliament on the reconstitution of the IEBC panel within the parameters of the law and the constitution," Ruto said.
The Azimio team however said the Parliamentary process will not achieve much.
The outfit leader proposed that the talks be on a national level, similar to those conducted by the late UN Secretary-General Koffi Anan in 2008.
"It is the resolution of this meeting that a purely Parliamentary process will not serve the intended end, our suggestion is to have a conversation at the national level through a process akin to the 2008 National Accord," a statement released by Azimio on Tuesday read.
This has however been received with fierce criticism especially by the Kenya Kwanza allied leaders.
