Former Mukurweini MP Kabando wa Kabando has told off critics of Azimio's 2022 chief agent, Saitabao Ole Kanchory.

Kabando said it was prejudiced of some Azimio members to critic Kanchory following the release of his book, Why Baba is Not The 5th.

In his statement on Friday, he said it was time to counter issues raised in the book and let the writer be.

"Let Kanchory be! It's unfair for some Azimiosts, who themselves may not be blameless, to attack the person of Saitabao for speaking out on why Raila lost the presidency," he said.

Among the reasons pointed out in the 'tragicomedy' book, were that the Azimio command centre was deeply compromised, the coalition ran a disorganised campaign and there was a false belief in the deep state.

Kanchory said there were power struggles and infighting among top campaign managers that could have cost Raila Odinga the presidency for the fifth time.

He further divulges how some of former President Uhuru Kenyatta’s senior government officials remained disinterested in campaigning for Raila, caring less whether he won or lost.

Kanchory also explains that former ICT CS Joe Mucheru and former Interior PS Karanja Kibicho were engaged in a tussle during Azimio campaigns.

"The truth won't wither because of denials," Kabando said.

The former MP recalled when he first met Kanchory in 2015 at a tallying centre during a Kajiado Central by-election.

The lawyer was the chief agent of ODM's MP Elijah Memusi.

"Sensing defeat, Jubilee honchos scattered to drinking dens to eat agents' money. I alone stayed till the end to congratulate the winner. We'd learn to concede," Kabando said.

He urged Kenyans to "nonviolently vigorously" oppose President William Ruto's government, noting that the people's power can win.

"Our fears that the Ruto regime would be a litany of tribalism, ineptitude and corruption are vindicated. Since 49 per cent voted Baba, and UDA can't get 30 per cent today, they're in power," he said.

"People's power can win, sooner."
