Ruto hosts Bungoma leaders at State House

President William Ruto on Thursday hosted Bungoma leaders for a breakfast meeting at State House.

The delegation was led by Speaker of the National Assembly Moses Wetang'ula. They discussed issues touching on development.

In a statement, Wetang'ula said Ruto assured them of his commitment to complete stalled projects.

"I want to sincerely thank H.E President Dr. William Ruto for hosting Bungoma county leaders for a Breakfast meeting at State House, Nairobi today. During our discussions that were centered on development of the region," he said.

"The President assured us of his government’s commitment to ensuring stalled projects in Bungoma County are completed and the ailing factories like Nzoia Sugar Company are revived."

The Speaker said the President agreed to make a two-day visit to Bungoma County next month.

The leaders included Bungoma Governor Kenneth Lusaka and Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa among others.

Barasa said the meeting with the President was productive and fruitful.

"We discussed issues that affect our people in Western Kenya and explored ways of addressing them together and talked about the country's political landscape and how we can work together towards a more united and prosperous Kenya," he said.
