Former Makueni deputy governor Adelina Mwau has been appointed chairperson of the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) board.
In a gazette notice dated April 19, President William Ruto appointed Mwau for a period of three years.
"In exercise of the powers conferred by section 43 (1) (a) of the Tourism Act, as read together with section 51 (1) of the Interpretation and General Provisions Act, I appoint Adelina Mwau to be the Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Kenyatta International Convention Centre," the statement read.
According to the gazette notice, Mwau will take up her roles effective April 20.
The former governor has served the residents of Makueni under different posts.
She served as a nominated Member of Parliament.
Mwau ditched the former Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana and joined President Ruto-led UDA in January 2022.
