According to the DP, they discussed among other issues how they can empower young people in the country through talent.

He added that the talks also touched on ways they can discourage youths from engaging in drug and substance abuse, and instead live meaningful lives.

The boyband is participating in the Forbes Summit and performed at the conference's welcome party on Sunday.

"This evening, @Pastor_Dorcas and I hosted members of the popular Kenya Boys band @sautisol in Gaborone, Botswana... We had an enriching conversation on empowerment of our youth and the role they, as mentors in their industry and elsewhere, can play in helping vulnerable young people nurture and sharpen their talent to fruition," Gachagua tweeted.

"We also explored possibilities of working together to guide and help rescue young people lost in illicit brews and substance abuse so that they can lead meaningful lives."

Sauti Sol also sent out a tweet about the meeting but did not give any details.

The DP left the country on Saturday, for a five-day visit to Botswana, where he is representing President William Ruto.

The 5-day summit brings together the world’s most elite young entrepreneurs and game-changers from more than 40 countries, to celebrate and learn from each other, inspiring the newest and next generation of leaders.

Gachagua also met more than 250 Kenyans living in Botswana, urging them to invest back home.
