The University of Eldoret has formed a partnership with the European Business University of Luxembourg to offer online courses to students in Kenya.
In a letter signed by Eldoret University Vice Chancellor Prof. Teressa Akenga said they were ready for a public-private partnership with EBU whose programs are mostly offered online a direction that their University is pursuing.
The Vice-Chancellor said the proposed partnership should be beneficial to both universities.
“In View of the Above and having considered the proposal I propose that we move to the stage of Writing/Singing a Memorandum of Understanding with all the details and obligations of both Universities clearly stated so that we can bring the aspirations of this proposal to fruition within a specified timeframe,” said the VC.
The Public-Private partnership proposal between Eldoret University and EBU will involve the European University to provide Co- lecture opportunities, full support of course content, and Jointly issue completion proposals.
Further, the EBU shall also offer a virtual learning environment and platform, and enrol students in the orientation and technology training and course chosen.
“No Fee from EBU for the first full year of operation but administration operating costs only,” said the VC.
He said EBU also seeks to use the University of Eldoret’s logo, symbols and name in promoting its certificate program as an affiliate partner.
The partnership proposal of EBU support and implementation also includes a review of the EBU blockchain and data science curriculum for integration, the creation of an independent Moodle platform for integration together with the creation of the pilot University of Eldoret University courses.
Further, the EBU shall also launch a select pilot course in artificial intelligence with the University of Eldoret content integration.
“Transfer of created resources to ‘University of Eldoret server and platform within a specified timeframe,’ he said.
The European Business University offers scholarships to students globally with a record of more than 15,000 students majority from the African continent and Kenya in particular.
The aim of the University is to offer opportunities for Education to people from vulnerable communities so as to help them transform their lives.
