Bungoma governor Ken Lusaka has asked the Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to summon Eliud Wekesa alias Yesu wa Tongaren after the Shakahola massacre in Kilifi county.
Speaking on Saturday at his Kamukunywa home, Lusaka dismissed Wekesa for imposing himself as 'Jesus' noting that he should be summoned to answer questions if he is linked to cultism like Pastor Paul Mackenzie of Kilifi.
The county boss condemned the Shakahola massive killings saying that it is against God's teachings. He called on the public to be vigilant with the kind of churches they attend.
"As leaders, we received the Shakahola incident in shock and dismay, it is very unfortunate because many people have lost their loved one due to cultic practices," Lusaka noted.
Lusaka, however, disowned Yesu wa Tongaren arguing Bungoma has produced senior men of God who are now serving the great nation of Kenya.
"Bungoma is a home of the men of God such as Bishop Philip Anyolo, Bishop Eliud Wabukala, and Cardinal Otunga, just to name a few, we cannot allow few people to taint the name of Bungoma," he said.
Other leaders from the region who have criticized Yesu wa Tongaren calling for speedy investigations include Kakamega Senator Bonnie Khalwale and Kimilili lawmaker Didmus Barasa.
Lusaka called on the government to continue harrowing and unfolding the Shakahola massacre occasioned by the spiritual manipulation presided over by cultic practices.
"The Shakahola massacre has caught the attention of the entire country and the world at large, indeed it is shocking, the investigating bodies should move with speed to unfold this and ensure that those who lost their loved ones get justice," Lusaka added.
